Jakar Tucker (College Liaison)

Born and raised on the Northside of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of City Charter High School and was a multi sport athlete at Perry Traditional Academy. Upon graduating high school, Jakar went onto attend West Virginia State University on a football scholarship. While at WVSU he obtained a degree in Communications with an emphasis in journalism and a minor in public relations. Upon graduation he returned to coach football at Perry T.A and then continued his career coaching at Thiel College followed by Virginia State University. Jakar has worked with the inner city youth of Pittsburgh since he was in high school. Often volunteering his time with Urban Impact Foundation, the Northside Steelers youth football and cheerleading organization, the Lawrenceville Seminoles youth football team and the Hill District Rebels youth football and cheerleading organization. Jakar also worked with kids in the Sto-Rox school district. He has mentored kids  on his own time throughout the city as well. Jakar has helped 25 kids reach their goals in attending college, 7 kids to attend trade schools, and 12 kids successfully enter the work force upon high graduation. If you ask him he’ll tell you “ I take no credit or responsibility for any of the work that I have done. I’m doing the Lords work and making the most of what he put inside my hands because it is not about me.” Jakar has touched many young people’s lives throughout the city of Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas.
